Grant Summary:
The City of Sydney Creative Grants – Creative Projects program supports artists, creatives and cultural organisations to develop new artistic works, reach new audiences, tell Sydney’s stories and deliver creative events, festivals and cultural experiences.
Funding can support a wide range of creative activities including visual arts, performing arts, music, dance, theatre, comedy, cultural storytelling, exhibitions, installations, workshops, festivals and multidisciplinary creative projects. Projects that respond to needs within the creative sector, provide opportunities for emerging artists and increase participation in Sydney’s cultural life are also supported.
Cash funding of up to $50,000 per project per year is available, with multi-year funding available for up to three years. Funding can include up to $10,000 for capital expenditure. Applicants can also request value-in-kind support including City of Sydney indoor venue hire and street banner pole hire.
The program can support First Nations-led arts and cultural projects, including projects that share Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories, support First Nations artists and creatives, explore connections to Country and culture, and create opportunities for First Nations creative practitioners to develop and present new work.
Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organisations, incorporated associations, co-operatives, corporations, partnerships, sole traders and trustees. Individuals and unincorporated community groups can participate when auspiced by an eligible organisation.
Projects must operate within the City of Sydney local government area or demonstrate significant benefits to City of Sydney communities and audiences.
