Grant Summary:
The Building Digital Skills Grant provides funding of $3,000 to $20,500 to help community organisations deliver free digital literacy programs for Australians aged over 50 through the Be Connected initiative.
The program aims to improve the digital skills, confidence and participation of older Australians, particularly people who may be digitally excluded. Support can be delivered face-to-face, one-on-one or in small groups using learning resources available through the Be Connected program.
Funding can be used for computers, laptops and tablets, software upgrades, internet costs, digital mentor training and expenses, learning materials, police checks and marketing and promotional activities that support delivery of digital literacy programs.
Specialist funding opportunities are also available for organisations supporting hard-to-reach older Australians, including people living in remote and regional communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
Applicants must be registered Network Partners within the Be Connected Network and have accessible premises that are regularly used by people aged over 50. Organisations must also hold public liability insurance and have completed the requirements of any previous Good Things Foundation grants.
Different funding amounts are available depending on the number of older Australians the organisation plans to support. First-time applicants can initially apply for a $3,000 grant, with larger funding opportunities available to eligible existing Network Partners.
