Grant Summary:
The ACT Environment Grants provide funding of up to $25,000 for community-led projects that enhance, conserve and protect the ACT’s natural environment and help more people connect with nature.

Projects can address up to two of three funding priorities: Caring for Country, Enhancing Ecological Condition and Connectivity, and Connecting More People with Nature.

The Caring for Country priority supports projects led by, or developed in collaboration with, Ngunnawal Traditional Custodians and other First Nations people. This can include projects that create opportunities to share cultural knowledge, strengthen connections to Country and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander involvement in caring for the environment.

Environmental projects can include protecting native plants and animals, improving woodlands, grasslands and aquatic ecosystems, creating biodiverse plantings and wildlife corridors, controlling invasive species and addressing threats such as erosion.

Projects that connect people with nature can include nature-based health and education activities, citizen science, improving access to nature and initiatives that engage a greater diversity of the ACT community.

The grant is open to community groups, not-for-profit community organisations, ACT public school parents and citizens associations, independent private schools, owners’ corporations and individuals.
